Day 01: BALIKPAPAN, LOA JANAN, MAHAKAM (LD)
Upon arrival at Balikpapan Airport, meeting service and transfer to Loa Janan, to board
houseboat for exciting adventure on Mahakam River. Meals provided and overnight on houseboat.
Day 02 : MUARA MUNTAI – MANCONG – MELAK (BLD)
Arrive early in the morning at Muara Muntai, after breakfast sightseeing around the village to
see the activity of local people then transfer by motorized canoe across the Jempang Lake to Mancong
through the Ohong River by passing the fisherman village where the house built on the water (floating
house). Along the river you’ll see long tail macaque, king fisher, fresh water eagle and proboscis
monkey (endemic of borneo). Arrive at Mancong a welcome ceremony by the Dayak Benuaq and
following by traditional dance. Afternoon, return to Muara Muntai then board to house boat continue
cruise up the Mahakam River to Melak. Breakfast & Dinner on boat. Lunch en-route.
Day 03 : MELAK – KERSIK LUWAI – EHENG – GEMURUH (BLD)
Arrive very early morning in Melak, after breakfast transfer by car drive to Kersik Luwai. On
arrival walk into the forest to observe the nature Black Orchid that you can find only in East Borneo.
Then continue drive to Eheng Village to visit old long house of Dayak Benuaq where the tribe still living
in the long house together. Afterwards, return to Melak and board to house boat for having lunch.
After lunch, transfer by motorized canoe and entering the small river to Gemuruh Village. You’ll
passing under the jungle with narrow river. Arrive in Gemuruh, giving the books, pencils and candy to
the children. Afternoon return to house boat then board and cruise down the river to Loajanan. Meals
on the boat.
Day 04 : MELAK – LOAJANAN – SAMBOJA (BLD)
Early in the morning downstream by houseboat to Loajanan. Arrive at Loajanan, transfer by
car drive to Samboja. Check in at the Samboja Lodge we take a look from the Tower to have a overview
of the Samboja Lestari. Afterwards, walk to the Orangutan and Sun Bear in their rehabilitation process.
Lunch and Dinner at Samboja Eco Lodge.
Day 05 : SAMBOJA LESTARI RESERVE, BALIKPAPAN (B)
After breakfast free time, then transfer to Airport for your next destination.
